Is Eagle Cite free? What does the free trial include?

Eagle Cite offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. During the trial, you get full access to all features. After the trial, pricing starts at affordable monthly or annual plans for students (Trainee plan) and researchers (Researcher plan), with options to use your own storage or ours.

How is Eagle Cite different from Zotero?

Eagle Cite features AI-powered natural language search (no complex Boolean operators needed), modern cloud-based architecture, the option to connect your own Google Drive or OneDrive storage, built-in PDF reading and highlighting, and upcoming collaborative features. It's designed with a more intuitive, modern interface for today's researchers.

Can I use my own cloud storage with Eagle Cite?

Yes! Eagle Cite allows you to connect your own Google Drive account for storage. This is perfect if you have unlimited university storage and want to save on costs. We also offer our own storage option, and Microsoft OneDrive integration is coming soon. Using your own storage makes Eagle Cite even more affordable.

What citation styles does Eagle Cite support?

Eagle Cite supports most major citation styles such as APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, IEEE, and many more. You can easily switch between citation formats and export your bibliography in your preferred style for papers, theses, and dissertations.

How does the AI search feature work in Eagle Cite?

Our AI-powered search understands natural language queries. Instead of using complex Boolean operators like 'AND' or 'OR', you can simply ask questions like 'What papers discuss climate change impacts on agriculture?' The AI searches through your highlights to find relevant citations instantly.

Can I collaborate with other researchers using Eagle Cite?

Collaborative features are currently in development and will be released in phases. Soon you'll be able to share citations, work on projects together, and build bibliographies as a team. This feature is coming to both Trainee and Researcher plans.

Is Eagle Cite good for students, PhD candidates, and academic research?

How much storage do I get with Eagle Cite?

The Trainee plan includes 10GB of storage (or unlimited if using your own Google Drive). The Researcher plan includes unlimited storage with our system. For labs, departments, or institutions, we offer custom plans with unlimited storage tailored to your needs.

Can I import my existing Zotero library to Eagle Cite?

We're working on making the transition from Zotero as seamless as possible. You can currently upload your PDFs and rebuild your library in Eagle Cite. More import options for existing citation managers are in development.

What file formats does Eagle Cite support?

Eagle Cite primarily works with PDF files for research papers. You can upload PDFs directly, read them within the platform, add highlights and annotations, and organize them into research projects and folders.

Is there a limit to how many citations or papers I can store?

There are no limit to how many citations you can store. The Trainee plan has storage limits for papers based on the 10GB allocation (or your own storage limits if using Google Drive). The Researcher plan offers unlimited storage and unlimited citations, perfect for managing extensive research libraries across multiple projects.

Does Eagle Cite work offline?

Eagle Cite is a cloud-based platform designed for access anywhere, anytime. An internet connection is required to sync your library and use the AI search features. We're exploring offline capabilities for future updates.

What's included in the Trainee vs Researcher plan?

The Trainee plan (best for students) includes 10GB storage and 1,000 AI searches per month. The Researcher plan (for faculty/professors) includes unlimited storage and unlimited AI searches. Both plans include all core features like PDF reading, highlighting, organization, and citation export.

Is there academic pricing or discounts for students?

Our Trainee plan is specifically priced for students at an affordable rate. We also offer custom pricing for labs, departments, and institutions that need bulk plans. Educational institutions can contact us for special academic pricing.

What platforms does Eagle Cite work on?

Eagle Cite is a web-based application accessible from any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook. You can access your research library from anywhere with an internet connection. Mobile and desktop apps may be considered for future releases based on user feedback.
